For the past few weeks, which is a long time, I have spent many hours lying around on the couch, reading, watching TV, sleeping, knitting, and always, always eating. I will eat and then conk out for a nap, wake up, and eat some more.
Sleeping on the couch is not restful, which makes me laze around even more. I eventually make it up to bed, where I will sleep in, sometimes as late as 4:30 in the afternoon.
Obviously, I have been getting hardly any exercise (I do get a little at work, but that’s once or twice a week), and combined with the lack of good rest, I have lost a lot of energy and gained a few pounds.
It seems I have lost respect for myself; my health is important, and I am letting it slide. My appearance mirrors my self-worth, and I’ve let that slide, too.
It is time for a change.
