Believe me when I say that weight loss is the popular fitness goal for most people, although making an actual weight loss plan doesn’t just boil down to reducing ones calorie intake and physical exercises, regardless of what you are being told by your personal trainer, sure calories are a significant factor on the subject of weight loss and the basis of losing weight is to burn more calories than you consume, but it is also important to take into consideration the method by which you follow in order to achieve your weight loss goals.

To put simply, you must prepared to have a continuous change of habits and lifestyle, rather than just looking for an endpoint to these changes, even after losing weight, although it is important to achieve your weight loss goal, the next important step is how you maintain it, this is where changing of your lifestyle and habits comes into play, such as food moderation, regular exercises and also decreased intake of processed foods that is focus on changing your habits and not just implementing new habits in the short run.

2. Expect your weight to fluctuate

This is a normal occurrence which most people on their weight loss program find disturbing, For a guy who has lost a lot of pounds, trust me this is normal when trying to lose weight, one mistake most people make is that they subscribe to the idea that the media and advertisements try to sell to them that, they are only successful when they continue to lose weight, until they are slapped by reality which shows the opposite.

In the beginning of your weight loss journey expect to lose weight rapidly as expected, this being that those weights that you have been losing for your first few months comes from your fat and also something called water weight, once your water reduction stops it hinders you from losing weight, you might even begin to gain weight, which as I said earlier “is a normal occurrence” fluctuations usually happen as you have ingested more salt and carbohydrates or you are weighing yourself at several times of the day very small changes be it an increase or a decrease in your weight can happen, one of the best things you can do for yourself at this point is not to emphasize a lot on these small changes, but watch out for trends, if your weight generally trends downward over a long period of time, then you are good to go.

3. It usually takes a lot of time to see some significant results

Most people who begin their weight loss journey are usually sold false hopes and dreams of immediate weight loss, they want to lose 12 pounds in 3 days, which I would say is unrealistic and delusional, at this time it is important that you exercise patience, in order to reap the long term reward over short term satisfaction.
