We put our body through a number of physical activities and exercises in order to lose weight. But what we often lack is consistency, will power and the right strategy.

Weight loss exercises are not always difficult to attain. The latest reel shared by fitness trainer Juhi Kapoor says so.

In the video, Kapoor shares three exercises which can be done by those who are obese, a beginner, pregnant women, senior citizens and even those with knee pain.

This is very suitable for those who are obese as these individuals need low impact workouts, says Kapoor.

Caution: “not many contraindications, because these are simple exercises. if severe joint pain or arthritis, ankle or heel pain – one can avoid it,” she says.

What does she suggest?

Kapoor suggests doing the exercises taking the support of the wall.

  • Wall sit (modified squat): She suggests to practice 3 sets (1 minute each)
  • Lunges: Keep both the knees at 90 degree angle to each other. Practice on both the knees 20 reps X 3 sets
  • One leg deadlift: Keep the hips squared and avoid tilting to either side. Practice 20 reps X 3 sets

These exercises are useful for fat loss and leg toning.

While she encourages everyone to try these low impact exercises she has a special suggestion for pregnant women and elderlies. “Practice caution and avoid the last exercise since it requires balance on one leg,” she suggests pregnant women and has asked senior citizens to practice slowly and with caution.

As per the latest report from the WHO, obesity, one of the major causes of severe health complications, has tripled since 1975. Most of the world’s population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight the report says and adds that 39 million children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese in 2020.

Obesity is measured on the basis of body mass index. A person whose body mass index is more than 30 is considered to be an obese person.

Obesity is a preventable condition. Healthy diet, active lifestyle and physical exercises can improve and regulate one’s weight.
