Parents should enlist their children in slimming programmes, health chiefs have said, as four in ten are overweight or obese by the end of primary school.
A study of Slimming World members, presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Maastricht, found that many worried about their overweight children and wanted to access similar help for them.
Some 34 per cent said they were concerned that one or more of their children was overweight or obese, while 78 per cent said they would like to recieve support to help their child to reach a healthier weight.
