The app will track your movement, and for every mile you log, you help to earn money for your chosen charity. Get sponsored by companies too.

Vitality is a corporate wellness program, like Virgin Pulse. It partners with employee wellness programs. With Vitality, you can log your fitness activities, and you’ll earn points called Vitality Bucks that you can use to purchase merchandise, services, or travel at the Vitality Mall.

If your employer doesn’t currently partner with Vitality, then send a request to HR.

MapMyFitnes is a mobile fitness tracking app from Under Armour. While the main focus of the app isn’t to make money, but rather track your fitness, it does run challenges. These challenges keep you active and you can win prizes.

Each challenge comes with different activities, rules, and prizes. You can also track gym workouts, walking, cycling, yoga, and more.

FitPotato is an iOS app. With FitPotato, you can challenge friends and other FitPotato users to earn cash for steps. Join a weekly prize group and complete three sessions in seven days to win.

Whether it’s a workout or tracked daily steps, Runtopia will reward you for your effort with virtual coins called Sports Coins. You can use your sports coin to get rewards like money to your PayPal account and discounts.

Choose any of the Rutopia training plans that are suited to your fitness level, and you can start seeing improvements in speed, distance, and endurance.

As well as outdoor activities, like hiking or running, the app also works for indoor exercises, such as gym, treadmill, and CrossFit workouts.

Another way you can make money by walking is by working as a dog walker. People are busy, so they may not have the time to walk their dogs themselves. So, they hire a dog walker to do it for them.

Rover.com is one of the most well-known platforms for pet-sitting and dog-walking jobs. It has lots of jobs on offer! According to Rover.com, you could earn up to $1,000 a month!

Wag! is a website where you can find dog walking jobs. It’s another place where you can get paid to walk. You can earn $14 an hour on average.

Next on the list we have Tailster, which is a community of walkers, boarders, and sitters.

With the site, you can set up and grow your own pet care business. The site offers automatic, secure payments, and insurance cover. You get to take home 80% of your earnings, and the site takes a 20% cut for its services.

You can get a lot of walking done at the grocery store, particularly if you’re shopping for a large range of items. That’s why one of the best ways that you can get paid to walk is to shop for and deliver groceries.

There are a couple of companies that’ll pay you.

Instacart is a popular grocery delivery company that will pay you to shop for and deliver groceries. There are no set working hours, so you are able to pick up work when it suits you.

Instacart pays $14 an hour on average. Pay can, however, vary from $5 to $25 an hour.

What’s great about Instacart is that it pays fast. You can get paid weekly. And, for a fee, you have the option to cash out daily with Instant Cashout.

Shipt is another company that pays you to shop for and deliver groceries to customers.

It’s one of the best delivery apps out there. Things like scheduling, accepting orders, and shopping for orders are all done through the Shipt Shopper app. You can earn between $16 and $22 an hour. You can work part-time or fulltime, and you get to set your own hours.

Shipt is accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) where it has an impressive A+ rating. Also, people who work for Shipt praise the company highly on Indeed.

So, it’s a legit platform. Shipt also pays fast. You get paid by direct deposit each Friday. This means that you aren’t having to wait a whole month to cash out your earnings.

You can also make money while you walk by delivering food. Lots of people use apps to order food from local restaurants, fast food places, and cafés. As a delivery driver, you simply pick up the order and deliver the food to the customer’s home.

Although much of the job involves driving, a lot of it is walking as well. You’ll need to walk into the restaurant to collect the food and deliver the food to the customer’s home.

With DoorDash, you can earn money delivering food from restaurants and fast-food places to people’s homes.

You get to choose your own hours, so you can work as much or as little as you want to. Since DoorDash is available in 7,000 cities in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, you’ll likely be able to find delivery work near you.

DoorDash drivers make $16 an hour on average. Pay can, however, range from $3 to $32 an hour.

UberEats is a super well-known delivery app that people can use to have food delivered from restaurants and other eateries right to their home. You can sign up to be an UberEats driver.

What’s great about delivering with UberEats is that it allows you to make your deliveries by bicycle or on foot if you want to. Even if you decide to use your car to make your deliveries though, they’ll still be a lot of walking involved too, such as walking into the restaurant to collect the order and walking to the customer’s door. If you do a lot of orders that can add up to a lot of walking.

UberEats drivers earn anywhere from $6 to $38 an hour. The average pay is $38 an hour.

Another good thing about driving for UberEats is that it pays fast. Your earnings are automatically transferred to your bank account every week. UberEats also has an Instant Pay feature that you can use to cash out your earnings up to 5 times a day. So, it’s a good app if you want to get paid quickly.

You could also deliver food with GrubHub. You get paid to deliver food from restaurants to customers’ homes. You can earn $12 to $29 an hour, and the average pay is $27 an hour. You also get tips, and you get to keep 100% of your tips too.

Like with UberEats and DoorDash, GrubHub also allows you to set your own hours.

GrubHub also gives you the option to get paid fast as well. It has collaborated with Chase to offer Grubhub Instant Cash Out on the Grubhub for Drivers app. You can connect a Chase checking account to get your money in moments with no Instant Cash Out fees or use another bank for a $0.50 fee per transaction.

There are other apps that pay you to deliver stuff. This can range from Amazon packages to dry cleaning to alcohol.

Here are some companies you might want to try:

With Amazon Flex, you get paid to deliver packages for Amazon. In the app, you can search for available delivery blocks in your area.

Most drivers earn $18 to $25 an hour.

Amazon Flex offers a few different delivery opportunities, which are:

com deliveries: You collect packages from an Amazon delivery station and deliver directly to customers. These delivery blocks are typically 3 to 6 hours.
Prime Now and Amazon Fresh: You pick up groceries or household items from an Amazon delivery station and deliver directly to customers. These delivery blocks are typically 2 to 4 hours.
Store orders: You pick up orders from local stores and deliver directly to customers. Delivery blocks are typically 2 to 4 hours.

With Amazon Flex, you can view details on each delivery block. With each block, you can see your expected earnings and how long your block is likely to take you to complete. It allows you to pick up delivery blocks that suit you. So, you can look for delivery opportunities that are convenient for you, which gives you a lot of flexibility with your schedule.

On the day of your block, you simply head to your designated Amazon location to pick up your packages, and then, using the Amazon Flex app, you navigate to each destination and deliver the package that corresponds with that address. You get paid once your deliveries are complete.

Payment is sent twice per week via direct deposit.

Saucey is an alcohol delivery company that promises to deliver alcohol within just 30 minutes.

GoPuff is a company that will pay you to deliver essentials, such as pet products, baby items, alcohol, and food to customers’ homes.

The company operates in 650 cities throughout the United States, and it has about 500 micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs).

With GoPuff, customers are able to have items delivered to their homes in as little as 20 to 40 minutes.

You get paid to deliver items from an MFC to customers’ homes.

You can schedule delivery blocks ahead of time if you want to, or you can deliver on-demand.

Pay ranges from $7 to $22 an hour. The average GoPuff Driver salary is $13 an hour.

While I have included GoPuff in this section as another option, it’s not as good as some of the other delivery companies available. It does have a few complaints from delivery drivers. You still may want to consider it as a choice, but there are some better options out there. If you’re interested in the company, make sure you check out my GoPuff review.

Roadie is an app that will pay you to drive locally or long haul. You get paid just to drive across town or across state lines. What’s great about Roadie is that, if you want to, you can earn cash on trips you’re already taking.

You can choose a delivery that fits your schedule, and you’ll be able to see details of a trip before you accept it, such as item dimensions, and pickup and drop-off instructions.

You can offer to do as many gigs as you want to, and Roadie will let you know when you are matched. If there are several deliveries in your area, then Roadie will bundle them so you can make more money in less time.

Drivers earn an average of $13 per trip with local gigs and up to $650 on long trips. You also get to keep 100% of the tips you earn. You can get weekly direct deposits, or cash out instantly.

Mystery shoppers get paid to visit local stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and other businesses. They need to share their experience on things like how clean the place was and how well they were treated by the staff.

This job involves walking around local businesses, so it’s a good way to get paid for being active.

Here are some mystery shopping companies…

Mobee is a mystery shopping app. It pays you for visiting local businesses and sharing your opinion on them. Mobee will give you points for answering questions while you shop. You can redeem these points for gift cards to places like Amazon, Starbucks, and Target.

Field Agent will pay you to do jobs which are mostly mystery-shopping related. It pays you to visit local businesses and provide your feedback. Local jobs pay anywhere from $3 to $20, and you’re paid right to your bank account.

Shopkick will pay you for doing a range of shopping-related tasks, such as:

Walking into select stores
Scanning receipts of selected products
Purchasing stuff online

You can have your earnings sent to your PayPal account, or you can get a gift card for places like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Sephora.

iSecretShop is a mystery shopping app. With it, you can view available secret shopping assignments near you from numerous agencies. So, there are lots of jobs available.

You get paid with cash, meal and purchase reimbursements, and gift cards.

You can sign up on the website linked in the section heading, but there are no links to the app on the website, so I have included them here instead:

GigSpot is an app that connects you with mystery shopping and market research companies.

The app offers tens of thousands of job opportunities. You can choose the jobs you want and work when and where you want. It’s another great way to get paid to walk.

Secret Shopper is a mystery shopping app. The app is available for iOS and Android devices.

You will first need to apply to be a shopper on the Secret Shopper website, which I have linked in the section heading. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to use the Secret Shopper app to pick up mystery shopping jobs.

One of the easiest ways to get paid to walk is to simply do local tasks and errands. These usually involve some sort of physical task or manual labor that’s great for staying active and making money at the same time.

Here are some local gigs and errands that pay you to walk.

You can get paid for collecting and charging scooters. This job involves collecting scooters in your nearby metropolitan area, putting them in your vehicle, and charging them.

Typically, you’ll earn $3 to $20 per charged scooter. One company that pays you to charge scooters is Lime, so give it a try.

Window cleaning is a physical job, so if you’re looking to get paid for being active, then you might want to give it a try. You could provide a window cleaning service to homeowners and businesses nearby.

Pay ranges from $12 to $24 an hour.

Shoveling snow is another physical job, so it’s ideal if you’re looking to get paid to be active. You could offer to shovel snow for people in your neighborhood during the winter months.

With Gigwalk, you can get paid to do a variety of local gigs. The pay ranges from $3 to $100 and you’re paid right to your PayPal account.

Another active job is washing cars. Many people don’t have the time to, or simply don’t want to, wash their car, so they hire someone to do it for them.

So, you could offer a car washing service to people nearby. Lots of people would likely be happy to use your services if they knew they didn’t even have to drive their vehicle to a car wash to have it cleaned.

TaskRabbit pays you to help people with their errands and to-dos.

You can also get paid to paint people’s houses. You could paint the interior or exterior of the property depending on your skillset. This is a pretty physical job, so perfect if you want to get paid to walk.

You can let people near you know that you’re offering a house painting service, and you could also consider advertising your services online on websites like Craigslist and Facebook.

You can make money helping people to move with Bellhops. You can earn up to $21 an hour including tips and bonuses, and you’re paid weekly.

You could also get paid to distribute flyers for local businesses and events.

This job involves a lot of walking! So, it’s a great way to get paid to be active.

You could contact local businesses to see if any of them need you to distribute flyers for them. Or you could offer your services online on a site like Fiverr or Craigslist. Or, you could do a Google search for the term, “Flyer distribution jobs near me,” and you will be able to see if there are any local flyer distribution jobs available locally.

Redeeming bottles for cash is another way to get paid for walking.

You can trade in plastic or glass bottles for cash at redemption centers. It’s important to note that you can only do this if you live in a state that has bottle redemption laws.

So, you’d purchase the taco shells, and scan your receipt to show you’ve bought them, and then you’ll get the rebate.

Other apps don’t require you to buy any specific products and instead just pay you for any itemized receipt.

One of the most popular receipt apps out there is Ibotta.

With Ibotta, you can get rebates when you purchase specific items and upload a photo of your receipts as proof of purchase.

You can get anywhere from $1 to $3 or more back for each product. You can get even bigger rebates than that though in some cases.

You can get your earnings sent to your bank account or PayPal account, or you can get a gift card.

Simply open the Ibotta app, browse through the rebate offers, purchase the item featured in the offer, and then upload a photo of your receipt.

If you got a $1 back on 10 items, then would get you $10 off your groceries.
