Back in April, Jake Paul was standing in the middle of Madison Square Garden, watching as a sold-out crowd witnessed history. Amanda Serrano, with Paul in her corner, and Katie Taylor main evented ”The World’s Most Famous Arena.” Now, he will look to put his name in the history books.

Paul announced he will be returning to the ring on August 6. This time, his Showtime-produced fight will be headlining MSG. An opponent has not been announced yet. The co-main event, or the “second main event,” per Paul, will be the return of Serrano. An opponent for her has also not been announced. She will be defending the WBC, WBC, and IBO featherweight titles.

Paul, 25, is a former Disney star and YouTube personality. He made his boxing debut in 2020, beating YouTuber AnEsonGib via TKO. “The Problem Child’s” next fight that year was against former NBA star Nate Robinson. He knocked Robinson out in two rounds.

Paul fought three times in 2021. He beat Ben Askren in April and Tyron Woodley in August, two former MMA champions. Scheduled to fight Tommy Fury in December, Fury had to back out after suffering a broken rib. Woodley took his place, and the rematch was set. During the fight, Paul knocked him out in the sixth round.

Serrano is a seven-division world champion, having held gold in the super-featherweight, junior-featherweight, featherweight, lightweight, bantamweight, light-welterweight, and junior-bantamweight divisions. A Brooklyn native, Serrano was on a 28-fight win streak after suffering the first loss of her career in 2012. Serrano has beaten the likes of Fatuma Zarika, Heather Hardy, Eva Voraberger, and Daniela Romina Bermudez. She beat Hardy for the WBO and WBC featherweight titles and Bermudez for the IBO title.

Against Taylor, Serrano almost beat the undisputed lightweight champion. She almost won the fight in the fifth, but Taylor persevered. Taylor would end up winning via split decision. A rematch has been discussed. Croke Park in Ireland has been the proposed destination.
