A garden expert and TikToker named Brandon Koruna posted a now-viral video about how to fill your garden up at an affordable price point.

Brandon starts his video off by saying: “If you want your gardens to look fuller, and you want to do it cheaply, these are the plants you’ll want to get and Why.”

Best plants to fill your garden

Brandon’s first suggestion is to purchase hostas which cost $17.35 from Home Depot.

“Hostas are super robust. They’ll grow almost anywhere. Every year you can just chop them in half and split them,” he says.

He showcases the fact that one hosta has been split multiple times to create many different hosta plants throughout his soil.

He also mentions that some of his hosta plants aren’t in the best condition because his kids have been tearing them up.

Despite the fact that his kids have given some of his hostas a hard time, the plants are still alive and thriving.

The second plant Brandon tells his viewers to add to their gardens is irises which sell for $19.75 from Home Depot.

He says: “[Irises grow] flowers… They flower in late spring.

“Chop them in half, and move them to a new location.”

The third plant he brings to the attention of his viewers is Black-eyed Susans which cost $9.98 from Home Depot.

He says: “They grow nice and big — nice and vigorous. Again, you can split them.”

The final plant Brandon zooms in on is Coral Bells worth $16.83 from Home Depot.

“They have flowers pretty much all season!” Brandon explains.

People who have gardens of their own have flooded into Brandon’s comment section with responses.

Someone asked: “When do you split the hostas? At the end of the season?”

To that, Branden responded: “I do [my splitting] at the end of summer, early fall.”

“Hosta flowers smell so good too,” someone else commented.

A third person added: “We had such a late spring, my irises have just started to bloom!”
