I have been reading the audiobook: How to be so good they can’t ignore you by Carl Newport. The author claims there are 2 ways to think about your work and career.
- Craftsman mindset
- Passion mindset
Passion mindset:
We spend most of our early career looking for a passion-job match. I am sure at some point we have asked ourselves.
“Is this my true calling?”
“Do I love my work?”
Honestly, these are the wrong kind of questions to ask yourself if you want to build a successful and creatively fulfilling career.
Craftsman Mindset
You don’t ask any of these questions. You simply focus on getting 1% better at what you do, day by day, until you are so good that they can’t ignore you.

The kind of questions you should be asking yourself:
- How can I better document my way of creating content?
- How can I up-skill myself at my job so I can get 5% better than I was last month?
- Is there a better way of editing this video?
- Treat your job and your service as a craft. Work towards honing that craft every single day by at least 1 %. Work really hard and develop your skill to a level of excellence that stands out, to “be so good they can’t ignore you
