The Wizarding Art of Costumification

Self signaling is an important wizarding magic. You are reminding yourself who you are and who you are becoming. If you are becoming a Master Potioneer, then you study potions, you talk about potions, you mix and make potions. Likely you have the potion books, potion tools, and ingredients conveniently located through out your Wizard home.
You are self signaling to yourself that the art of potion making is important to you and that you are in the process of mastering it.
There is another form of self signaling that not only signals you, but it also announces to your helper mice and other observant people who you are becoming. This is the magical art of Costumification. Costumification is dressing as the character you are becoming.
Some characters are easy to assume. A jewelry artist will likely be adorned with their own creations. An aspiring yogini will often be in ready-for-action activewear. A musician may be wearing their instrument of choice like an accessory. These are costume choices that signal to the artist-athlete-musician exactly who they are questing to become. They also signal to our allies (and even those that oppose us) that we are an artist-athlete-musician.
As a student of magic, the choices become a little more challenging and consequently a little more fun. But they do require courage and commitment to pull them off.
A cape or some other eccentric outer wear was the signal in the Harry Potter series that a Wizard was in the vicinity, especially if they were carrying their wand. There was also House colors at the Hogwarts School of Wizardry that let people know if you were a courageous Gryffindor, a clever Ravenclaw, an ambitious Slytherin, or a healing Hufflepuff.

You can make these same kinds of signals both to yourself and to those around you simply by dressing-as-if. It can be that cape, or just committing to carrying around your wand. Witchy skirts, bedazzled gloves, or charmed necklaces can also help you to feel like the character you are becoming.
And that is what we are up to in this Costumification game. We are creating a feeling within that reminds us of our Wizard Quest and keeps us moving towards it. It also reminds your helpers so that they can hold this vision of you as well.
Costumification is the outer action of the inner art of Shapeshifting. As you become a master Shapeshifter, able to shift your identity as easily as changing a hat, Costumification will become unnecessary. Eventually you will only use the art of Costumification just for the fun it brings you and others.
YOUR WIZARDING HOMEWORK
Today’s magical assignment: use a piece of clothing or accessory to shapeshift your character into someone or something else.
Wizarding students can add magic to their attire to signify their study.
CHOOSE:
• A Magical Robe, Cloak or Tail
• Charmed Hat or Ears
• Bedazzled Gloves or Talons
• Enchanted Ring, Necklace or Charm
You can also use the Wizard Crossroad Chicken to activate today’s magic. Or the Campfire Chicken to come to magical completion with the day-that-has-been.
