Writing like this gave me a sense of freedom that I had never experienced before.

Hi, I go by Jenna.
I say ‘go by’ because I made the decision early in my writing career to use a pen name to be able to share my most honest stories without involving those in my personal life.
And I know the internet doesn’t promise anonymity, but I still love a bit of protection.
I would describe myself as a ‘severe introvert,’ which kickstarted my love of writing. I spent a lot of my childhood making up stories and putting them down on paper, a habit that flourished into my adulthood, but I never gained the courage to publish consistently until I took on my pen name.
When I became Jenna Marlow, the words flowed like never before, so here I am.
Writing was always a hobby that I could do when my energy was low. Unlike painting or embroidering, which I enjoy as well, it’s as simple as me and my laptop. No huge setup or clean up required.
Even when I’ve taken breaks from writing for months on end, I always find my way back to it like an instinctual force.
As a lover of fiction and nonfiction, I switch up between both often, but I keep fiction mostly to my Instagram which can be found here. I’d love to see you there as well.
I am a college graduate, a soon-to-be public health graduate student, a lifelong mental health advocate, and an avid hobbyist. The topics I write most about are:
- Personal essays
- Mental health
- Work and School
- Personal development
I am passionate about people and helping others achieve their most fulfilling life. If you liked what you read, consider giving me a follow. I sincerely appreciate everyone who engages with my writing.
