Houses have been evacuated after a World War Two era bomb was found in a garden in Salford.

Residents are being advised to stay inside following the shocking discovery on Moss Lane in Swinton.

Police are also at the scene.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “A WW2 era bomb has been discovered in a garden on Moss Lane in Swinton, Salford.

“An evacuation of the immediate local area is under way.

“If you live nearby please stay inside, keep your doors and windows closed and stay away from windows.
