Clitheroe fire spreads to sheds, fence panels and garden furniture

A fire spread to two garden sheds, fence panels and garden furniture in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighters were called at 3.35am this morning (April 27) and spent hours battling the blaze on Richmond Terrance in Clitheroe.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, and scene lighting. Crews remained in attendance for one and a half hours.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 03:35 on April 27, two fire engines from Clitheroe attended an outbuilding fire on Richmond Terrace, Clitheroe.

“The incident involved two garden sheds and also affected fence panels and garden furniture.

“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, and scene lighting.

“Crews remained in attendance for one and a half hours.”

This comes the day after the fire service and police announced they are working together to tackle an increase of arson incidents in the area.

Fire crews said they had been called to several deliberate fires.
