ESCANABA — MSU Extension and Extension Master Gardeners who assist with the garden are offering an end of the garden season grilling party. This will be followed by a free Native Plant Workshop. The Escanaba Community Garden Grilling Party is planned for Tuesday, September 20 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The garden is located at the intersection of Hwy 41 South and 23rd Avenue South, Escanaba. A free Native Plant Workshop will be held following this from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A new native plant garden has ben installed at the site, so the focus will be on how to plan and install a native plant garden.

Each garden family and/or attendee is asked to bring a dish to pass along with their place settings (plates, plastic ware, etc.), non-alcoholic beverages, and lawn chairs. If anyone would prefer not to bring a dish, a $5 donation is suggested. MSU Extension will supply and grill fresh vegetables along with hotdogs and brats. Preparing something from your garden harvest using MSU Extension’s Project Fresh recipes and making use of MSU Extension’s safe food preparation is suggested.

The garden party is for Escanaba Community Garden members and their families, along with the public.
