Body-worn footage shown to jury
PC Kate Williams, who was among the first police officers on the scene, has taken to the witness stand.
Jurors are being shown body-worn camera footage, which she recorded on her uniform, of people performing CPR on Ms Bloomer outside before police officers entered the house.
Flashing lights could be seen outside before PC Williams enters the house.
The footage shows her walking up the stairs, calling ‘police’, before the defendant is found lying on his back, wearing just shorts, in a bedroom.
Blood appears to be on his hands, in the footage shown to jurors.
Officers then ask the defendant what has happened to the woman outside.
The defendant is then placed into handcuffs before officers, with another joining PC Williams, tells the defendant he is under arrest for attempted murder.
The defendant is seen and heard on the body worn footage saying ‘I’m dying’ and ‘I need to die’.
Police say to one another that the defendant said he had ‘weed’.
