Nick Knowles has revealed he is set to spend Christmas Day alone.
The DIY SOS star issued the update to his 325k Instagram followers as he awaits the results of a PCR test.
The 59-year-old revealed he hopes to be reunited with his family on Boxing Day – but only if he gets a negative result.

He said: “This is just a little Christmas message to everybody whose having to spend Christmas alone.
“I’m doing the same this year, or I’m awaiting a test to let me get out free because of Covid.”
However, Nick tried to remain optimistic about the situation and urged anyone in a similar situation to look forward to the happy memories they’re going to be able to create in 2022.
He continued: ” Being alone and separated over Christmas because you’ve got covid, or for whatever other reason, is not the end of the world.
“There’s a whole year ahead of you when things are going to be amazing so stay hunkered down.
“Drink plenty of fluids, watch anything and everything there is to watch on TV – and read a lot.
“Take care and Merry Christmas to all of you, especially those who are having to do it alone this year.”
Nick previously contracted covid at the start of the pandemic and revealed he was struggling with the illness for 10 months.
He told Lorraine: “I had it really bad. Me being impatient tried to get straight back into exercise afterwards.
“There seems to be some correlation there of going too hard at exercise too soon after covid can actually cause you problems.
“I didn’t want to tell anyone as I thought I might not get a booking for work, I kept it to myself.”
It’s been a tough year for Nick as he also became embroiled in controversy when he broke BBC rules while appearing as a builder in a Shreddies advert.
The advert violated the broadcasting corporation’s editorial guidelines that stipulate actors and artists are banned from appearing in promotional work “in a way which mimics or replicates their on-air roles for the BBC.”
This meant Nick was replaced on the DIY SOS Children In Need special for the first time in the show’s history, but he is set to return in 2022.
