Eccleshall garden centre praises ‘amazing’ firefighters after fire breaks out

Firefighters have been praised by staff at a garden centre in Eccleshall after a fire broke out. Fletcher’s Garden Centre took to social media following the incident earlier this evening, to issue an update on the incident.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to bring the fire under control. Smoke could be seen billowing from the site by passers-by.

Rupert Fletcher from Fletcher’s Garden Centre confirmed nobody was hurt and praised the ‘amazing’ fire service after the incident. He also said the centre will be open tomorrow.

Rupert Fletcher, from Fletcher’s Garden Centre, said on Facebook: “We’d like to thank everyone for their concern regarding the fire at the garden centre. I’d like to confirm that nobody was hurt and the fire crew have been amazing.

“We are assessing the stock damage but we will be open tomorrow as normal. We thank everyone again for their well wishes and offers of help. From all the team at Fletchers Garden Centre.”

Staffordshire Live has reached out to the fire service and Eccleshall Fire Station following the incident. At this stage, the cause has not been shared with the public.
