Now carbohydrates aren’t completely bad they are used for transporting protein into our body so when we completely cut it out for a long time we are reducing protein absorption by the body.
Many people think if you just don’t eat any fat in our diets then we will simply just never get fat. This is absolutely not the case.
- Not all fat is bad. Many fats are actually good for us. For example, salmon,avocados, olive oil, tofu and nuts. These fats are good for us and make up a healthy body.
- We often make the wrong trade-offs. We swap fat with these low fat alternatives which are filled with preservatives and they are filled with sugar to substitute for the fat. These will not help us lose weight the only thing they will do is just make us unhealthy and tired.
The Mediterranean diet is mostly eating good fats, smaller amount of carbs and a decent amount of protein. High emphasis on olive oil, pita bread and salmon. All very healthy for you if you’re trying to lose weight.
Whatever weight loss strategy you try, it’s important to stay motivated and avoid common dieting pitfalls, such as emotional eating.
