A HOME in Bolton has gone on sale for the same price as a garage in London – but it needs a bit of work.
The two-bedroom terraced property in Burnden, Greater Manchester, is going under the hammer for a guide price of £35,000.
It comes as a garage in Croydon, South London, is selling for around the same price.
The Manchester homes has a hall, reception room and kitchen on the ground floor while the first floor sees a landing, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The leasehold is double-glazed and boasts of a back yard but it is in serious need of a major refurb.
Pictures advertised on Zoopla, a price comparison platform for homes, shows paint falling from the ceiling and walls.
Both bedrooms have wooden slats as flooring while most of the paint inside has peeled off, leaving a ghastly grey finish.
Meanwhile, the hallway is painted pink and the bathroom, which has a modern shower/bath installation, is urgent need to a lift.
According the Zoopla, the property is the cheapest in Greater Manchester and goes on auction on September 9 at 9am.
This comes as a garage in Croydon is selling for £29,995.
Agents Bromley Property Company describe the stowaway shack as a “fantastic garage” with “a back pitched roof in a Residential Gated compound with security cameras 20 mins walk to Eden Park”.
A garage in Romford, Essex, is selling for £24,000 while a lock up garage in the well-to-do area of St John’s Wood is on the market for £100,000.
A gated underground parking space in fancy Knightsbridge is selling for £250,000.
Agents Nicolas Van Patrick say the parking spot comes with a “fob access, CCTV, parking attendant, water and electricity”.
The lucky buyer will need to fork out £1280 per annum in service charges.
