There are a lot of great minds here I must confess. And I also thought that it will be better if these people know a better way to earn with their knowledge instead of depending on Medium.
The competition is getting much these days and I have been reading so many posts where people complain about earning very little to what they were expecting. Is like there are more content creators in the Medium Premium Program than readers presently. And this has resulted to supply being more than demand.
So, I decided that it is time I come in to show these people earning little due to their low following on how they can monetize their knowledge and earn bigger than what Medium pays them.
Without wasting much time, here is how you can make your first $1 on social media by sharing your knowledge and experience with your followers.
1. Convert Your Knowledge into a Digital Product
Since you already have knowledge about a subject, you can sit down and create an eBook or a coaching course around it. It doesn’t matter whether you know a lot about cooking, personal finance, relationship, yoga, or any other subject.
You don’t need to be an expert to sell a digital product. The fact is that most people nowadays search for information online. And they are ready to pay you if they perceive you have the solution to their search.
If you’re a Virtual Assistance, you can bundle your years of experience into a digital product and sell it to people who would love to start a virtual assistance business.
If you love talking about relationships, you can position yourself as a relationship or dating coach and sell a course in your niche to people interested in your subject.
2. Post Content Around the Problem You Solve
Your content position you as an expert in your niche. People need to read your content and come to the conclusion that you can help them. You should be posting a minimum of 3 posts daily on your timeline.
You don’t need to be a good writer to be able to publish good posts. The best way to write is to write as if you’re talking to someone in front of you. That is how you can break the barrier and start posting on your timeline.
3. Start Having Conversations with People Around Your Subject
One of my mentors always say; “money is in the DM”.
Just putting out content is not enough if you don’t have a big following yet. You need to start having conversations with at least 3 people daily.
When you make new friends, try to message them and get to know them. Don’t try to pitch them. Get to know how you can help them.
For example, if you sell a weight loss product for women or mums who just gave birth, you can send a thank you message to them for accepting your friend invites, introduce yourself and also ask them if they have issues with their weight that you can help them with.
Some will say no while some will say yes. For those who will say yes, you start asking questions that will lead to where you then introduce your product as the solution to their problem.
4. Follow Up
Now, not everyone will buy from you just from your first conversation. This is where you follow them up every two to three days till they either tell you directly they aren’t buying or show you signs that they won’t buy.
So, there you have it.
Create a digital product from your knowledge or experience.
Pick a platform and consistently post at least 3 contents daily.
Start having conversations with your followers via DM
Follow up with them until they either buy or tell you they aren’t buying.
