How did I address the hardy situation for the first time in my life?

I got a notice from the Narcotics Control Bureau on April 9th, 2022. I was shocked when I read the letter. I have neither been involved with illegal things nor consuming or selling drugs.

And it was so shocking for me because the letter told me that I had a link with 12.04 kg morphine selling. Before telling the complete story, let me introduce about NCB and Myself.

What is Narcotics Control Bureau ( NCB)?

According to Wikipedia, “The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is an Indian central law enforcement and intelligence agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The agency is tasked with combating drug trafficking. And the use of illegal substances under the provision of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.”

But why did I receive a summon from NCB?

A few days before neighborhood uncle (neighborhood uncle) was arrested. NCB sent a letter to his mom( my grandmother). His mother came to me to read out the letter because, in his family, no one is familiar with English. I found he was involved in drug supply while reading the NCB notice letter.

Before that event, I didn’t know whether he was dealing with such naughty things or not. I only knew he was a driver. Anyway, I received the summon under the Indian NDPS Act 67(c), 21(c), and 29. And my presentation deadline was on May 13th before 3 p.m.

After reading the letter Dad-mom and even the accused family members had not slept.

They all have tensioned why I received this because they know I don’t like to smoke or even Pan Supari ( Betel nut). At the same time, we haven’t enough money to go to the NCB office, Guwahati, and solve this problem.

I had no idea why I got this before being interviewed by the NCB officer. Although I have not been involved in drug selling, I had transacted an average of Rs 15k with him for his mother’s daily needs before arresting him.

His old mother hasn’t an ATM card. Which is why he sent money to me on Google pay. And I transferred those amounts in cash to his mom. And most probably, those transactions are the root causes of receiving the summon.

A toughest Journey to the NCB office, Guwahati.

Although I haven’t enough money to appear at the NCB office in Guwahati, the accused family helped me financially and emotionally. The old grandma and her daughter came with me to solve this issue at the NCB office.

But reaching the office wasn’t so easy for us. We had traveled more than 10 hours by train with no seats. For emergency, we hadn’t able to book sleepers or even second sitting seats.

Old grandma had been lying down between the empty space of two rows of train seats for 10 hours. Because she has been suffering from pain in her 32 bones. And thanks to a gentle boy for sitting me beside him for a while. Our trouble is not ending here.

The advocate had denied me to appear at the office when Grandma discussed that matter with her. She told me that the investigation department could arrest me and treat me like other arrested persons in this case.

She also warned me to carry out my mobile phone and citizenship documents when my family members and I had denied the advocate’s advice.

My interview with an NCB officer, Guwahati.

I appeared to interview with my mobile phone and all the documents because I know “honesty is the best policy.” And during the interview, I realized how important honesty is.

The officer asked me a few questions about my personal life, all arrested persons, and why I transacted those amounts. And I honestly answered that he sent me those amounts for his mother’s daily needs. But I don’t know other people except for my uncle. He also asked me to show the transaction history and I had shown all the details.

I told him everything I knew about my uncle and his family members. Although I told him everything, I don’t know much about them because they live in another state, which is 12 hours far away from us. Only Grandma and her divorced daughter with two children have been living near our home for a few years.

But at the last moment, the officer ruined me while he was advising us (accused family members and me). He told me that I should continue to work toward my dreams to achieve that.

And he also helped me to book a Rapido to return home. I had returned home by a truck, but my grandma and Auntie returned to their son’s home by train.

I have no words for how I thank him. I didn’t imagine that he could deal with me in such a kind manner. My mom, dad, and neighborhood are so happy now and proud of my honesty.
