Home renovation pro The_Daily_DIY took to TikTok to reveal the trick, sharing a video and writing: “Did you know that you can wrap a trash bag around your toilet tank and another around the bowl before you paint your bathroom?

“Keeps the paint off and makes for easy clean up.”

Since posting it, the video has been watched over 364,000 times, with viewers quick to praise the expert for the hack.

“I could’ve used this advice yesterday,” one person wrote, to which the poster replied: “But now you know next time!”

“That’s so simple, so obvious,” another person commented.

“Did I think of it when I was painting my bathroom? Nope.”

In another video on her account, the DIY expert shared another painting hack, as she said: “Always keep a wet rag nearby. If you get wet paint where you didn’t intend to, it comes right off.

“It’s especially helpful for when you’re cutting in with the brush and you accidentally get paint on the wall or the trim – just take a wet rag and wipe it right off.”
