A DISABLED OAP can’t get down to his garden from his back door after builders left an unfinished patio.

David Houston, 77, is £1,650 out of pocket after the firm vanished without completing the job.

Now he must walk down the road and through his neighbour’s yard  to reach the garden.

David said: “I struggle with my balance and have reduced mobility after  three hip operations. 

“I have leg pain and muscular spasms and this situation is unsustainable.”

The pensioner and his wife Irene, 71, have been living in their home in Dalry, Ayrshire, for 51 years.

But David’s difficulties meant the steps into the garden had to be widened.

In July, he contacted KA Property Care in nearby Dalrymple to start the work.

Irene said: “I last saw them was on July 14, when they asked for wages halfway through the job. 

“My grandson told them it was a health and safety hazard.”
