Lack of quorum may delay plans for new arbor at Grandmothers’ Garden

WESTFIELD — The only request on Thursday’s agenda of the Community Preservation Commission was $48,071 for a new rose arbor for the Grandmothers’ Garden. Unfortunately, CPC Chair Thomas Sharp was not able to convene the meeting due to the lack of a quorum.

Allen Steiger and other board members of Grandmothers’ Garden came to the last quarterly meeting on July 14 to talk about the deteriorating rose arbor at the garden, and whether that is a project the CPC might fund. They were asked to come back with a formal funding request at the Oct. 13 meeting.
