Dear readers,
Disclaimer: This blog is mostly for me, but to share my story publically to see if maybe I can fix my perfectionism while trying to scale my business. This might be messy, this might be boring, but it will be raw. I might be breaking every rule in the book about how to write a blog, but if I cared, that would defeat the purpose of trying to beat perfectionism. So read if you like, if you don’t that’s cool too. 🙂
Working from home definitely has its perks. You get to have things the way you like them. No long commute. Being closer to your family. So many pro’s.
But there are also a few cons. Sometimes if you live with a big family, it can get pretty noisy. People forget that you’re working, and think you’re always available for errands or to do things around the house. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind helping out my family, but sometimes I’m in the zone and I gotta work 😭.
Another con could be being in the same place for such a long time, without seeing so many people. Which i can see how this can cause some loneliness for some people, unless you’re like me, and you work better alone, and you leave friends for when you get off works.
So what works for me?
It’s going to be really boring. Are you ready?
2 things.
- Music. Really loud music. Music that I can jam out to, and maybe block out the noise, and helps me get in the zone.
- Moving around the house. Sometimes I work from my room. Other times I work in the living room, or even at the dining table.
When I do some of these few things, they help keep me focused and sometimes reset when I feel I’m in a rut.
These are just some of the things I do, but make sure you try finding something that works for you.
Working from home can be tough, but it can also be enjoyable if you make it work, and you have the right circumstances.
Just some thoughts for today.
✌️
p.s. currently working from my bedroom today, might move to the living room later.
