Marcus Aurelius urges himself to take action on something he has been procrastinating on.
We do not control many things, including the number of times the opportunity to act arises.
How many times we see a “sign” and say, “𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦”.
Do it before the chance never comes again.
How would you interpret Marcus’ thought here?

🏛 📖 🏛 📖 🏛
Every week, I share a passage from the book 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 by Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. A collection of the emperor’s personal thoughts. Never meant to be read by others, there is wisdom to be gleaned from these private memoirs of the most powerful man of his time more than 2,000 years ago. We haven’t changed that much over several millennia.
