A MISSING dog has miraculously been reunited with her owners EIGHT YEARS after she vanished from a garden.
Cassie the cocker spaniel disappeared from her home in Merstham, Surrey, back in 2013.
After returning from a walk that March, she ran to the bottom of the garden and was no where to be seen.
Her devastated owners Stuart and Jayne thought they would see their beloved pooch again.
But eight years on, the delighted couple received the news Cassie had been found after she was taken into a vets in Chichester and her microchip was scanned.
It’s thought Cassie, now aged nine, was stolen and used to breed as she returned back home with three puppies.
She was finally reunited with her owners on Tuesday.
In an emotional update shared on Facebook, Stuart and Jayne thanked people who had supported their hunt for Cassie over the years.

“We would just like to say a great big thank you to all the people that have helped over the years and given us support in trying to find Cassie,” they said.
“It was very emotional getting her back and with three of her puppies at the age of nine.
“We are giving her lots of love and she is getting on well with our other dog.
“We gave the puppies to good homes.
“Can’t thank you enough for all your help it’s just amazing. Should be made into a film. It was the best Christmas present.”
Those who helped search for Cassie hailed the update “wonderful news”.
One person commented: “I’m so happy and relieved for her, her puppies and family. Wishing them nothing but the best. This shows the importance of scanning.”
Another added: “Welcome home Cassie you poor girl wish you had been found sooner. At least you don’t have to go through anymore suffering now.”
