But worry no longer – this Irish mum has a handy, cheap trick up her sleeve.
Shauna, a home DIY enthusiast who posts on TikTok as @homediydiary, shared a hack for water sprinklers.
The mum posted a clip with the caption: “My plants are dying of thirst so I’m going to reuse this water sprinkler hack that I came up with this time last year!”
In the video Shauna said: “It’s hot – let’s DIY a water sprinkler.”
Using a drill and an empty plastic bottle, Shauna gets to work in order to keep her plants hydrated.

She said: “Rinse a plastic bottle and make a hole in the lid about the size of your hose head.”
With the drill she creates a hole in the lid, as well as piercing smaller holes throughout the bottle.
Showing her followers what to do, she said: “Put the lid back on, place the hose through the hole, turn on the water and you’ve got a water sprinkler.
“Call the kids and go have some fun!”
