The Garden Clubs of Illinois, Inc., is sponsoring a Standard Flower Show, “Let’s Go to the Movies,” from noon to 4PM on Sat., Aug. 6; and from 10AM to 4PM on Sun., Aug. 7, in the Burnstein Hall at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Members from both the Naperville Garden Club and Cress Creek Garden Club are set to participate.

With garden views and access to Runnells Courtyard, where visitors can see the Garden’s renowned Bonsai Collection, Burnstein Hall is sure to provide a lovely backdrop for all entries that help carry out the movie theme.

“Look for floral designs and horticulture entries from the Naperville Garden Club and the Cress Creek Garden Club,” said Marilyn Krueger, longtime member and past president of the Naperville Garden Club, who also writes a monthly column in Positively Naperville. “Visitors will enjoy the beauty of the show, learn about plants that are successfully grown in our area and have time to wander the gardens.”

Admission to the Flower Show in Burnstein Hall is free with paid admission ($17.95 per non-Cook County residents) to the Chicago Botanic Garden.

The Chicago Botanic Garden is located at 1000 Cook Road in Glencoe.
