Bing Crosby’s desert home is back on the market for $4.5 million after a decade-long struggle to sell it.
The singer, who died in 1977 aged 74, was drawn not just by stunning views over the Coachella Valley, 120 miles inland from Hollywood, but by the area’s world-class golf courses and celebrity neighbours. Robert Teller, 83, a former ice cream entrepreneur, bought it in 2005 but has been listing it for sale on and off since 2010, unable to attract an offer he believes reflects its value.
Crosby had the five-bed home built in the 1950s in the gated community of Thunderbird Heights in Rancho Mirage, one of a string of small cities in the foothills of the Santa Rosa mountains. The area was a
