Primark takes baby steps with its first online trial | Business

After years of resisting online shopping, Primark is to trial a scheme that will allow shoppers to click and collect children’s products at 25 of its stores.

The budget fashion retailer was badly affected during the pandemic when it lost billions of sales as all its stores were forced to shut during lockdowns and its lack of a website meant it had no buffer from online revenues.

Analysts say it is only a matter of time before Associated British Foods (ABF) relents and launches online, but so far it has resisted as it fears this would stop customers coming to its stores.
