Productivity is often misunderstood as a concept of doing a lot in a day, which is the wrong way to think about this amazing technique.
Being productive is about getting things done that are important to you. It might not have to be something you do now, but it could be an idea you are working upon that could be improved by taking one step forward to advance your project or idea.
We often know what productivity is about, and we are also interested in being productive so we are able to feel satisfied and successfully accomplish our goals.
In this age of distraction where we are constantly occupied with taking care of our relationship, waiting on text messages or emails, making calls, searching for some treasure through our feeds, and watching the stories of others on social media, productivity is a real struggle.
There is a 3 step process that can help you (and me as well)
#1 Daily reminder of important projects
Each one of us has a dream to pursue. In case you don’t think you have one, I am sorry, you too have it, but you are afraid to even admit it.
Many people are blinded by the idea that productivity is doing more things each day, so they get overwhelmed by trying to tackle their big dreams in a day.
You don’t have to.
A list of your life’s most important projects keeps you organized and focused on future goals.
Using this list will assist you in remembering your goals, and you have to prepare yourself to take at least one step each day toward your goals.
Your dream project may be something close to your heart, a dream to appear in a drama or web series, a dream to become a writer, a dream to have a podcast with millions of subscribers, or something else completely.
As long as your goals are important to you, and you are constantly reminded of them, they will encourage you to act upon them, and you will eventually reach them with consistent effort and patience.
#2 List of people
“Damn! I forgot to call them”
Have you ever experienced something like this or when you said something like that?
Rarely you might say (for me, it was as regular as my tea).
We are all human, and we can all forget some important things. However, it does not mean we cannot improve.
It is recommended to create a list of people, dividing them into these two categories:
• Waiting On — Person who you are waiting on to provide you with the information you need to move forward.
• Reach Out To — Your contacts that you need to get in touch with, either by email, phone, or whatever method you would like.
Keeping an eye on the list of people waiting will allow you to find out if you have received information from them, or if they need to be moved to the Reach Out list.
Having a list is helpful if you don’t want to miss an important task or if you want to keep track of everything that other people need to do and everything you need to do.
#3 Planning the Priorities
Here are the tasks that must be accomplished today. It might be your everyday tasks, or it might be improvements you are considering for the sake of advancing your goals or helping your big projects.
When you determine and take action on your priorities, you build self-confidence and develop a sense of self-belief that manifests itself in your actions and achievements.
