RETROSPECTIVE planning permission has been sought for a number of security measures at a now-closed care home in Greenock’s west end.
An application has been submitted to Inverclyde Council for the temporary steel shutters, video cameras and alarms which were installed at Sir Gabriel Wood’s Mariners’ Home earlier this year.
Steel shuttering now covers most of the Newark Street building’s windows to prevent damage and break-ins while the current owners seek a buyer for the property.
The application was submitted on behalf of Sailors’ Society, which previously ran the Newark Street home.
