The municipal garden in Sanguem has fallen into disrepair due to a lack of maintenance, with many of its facilities having stopped functioning for sometime now.
The garden was popular among residents, especially among the elderly and the young, who used to frequent it during the evenings. The digital sign board at the entrance of the garden has stopped functioning despite being a source of revenue for the council.
The garden is covered with overgrown grass and plants, with even the footpath not being completely visible now. The fountains inside the facility have also stopped working.
On Wednesday, Councillors Meshu Dcosta, Fouziya Shaikh and Sangameshwar Naik visited the garden and assured to take up the issue at the upcoming municipal meeting.
