In my early teenage years I loosely belonged to a gang- “loosely” because it was my friend who was an actual member and I was his “tag-along”.
Most likely my only contribution to the gang was to write “Wideopen Hairy Dans” (the full name of the gang) in graffiti over all my school exercise books.
It was the 70’s in Northern England and the two rival groups were skinheads and “hairies”.
