Several New Jersey counties were under a wind advisory Saturday evening night following strong wind gusts and heavy downpours earlier in the day.
In Ocean County, strong winds toppled over an 8-foot-long sailboat, which resulted into a water rescue by the Toms River Marina.
Earlier in the day, the National Weather Service issued a thunderstorm warning for several counties.
However, the strong winds persisted, and a wind advisory went into effect until 7 p.m. for several counties, which included Southeastern Burlington, Atlantic, Western Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for winds that ranged from 20 to 30 mph with gusts that reached around 40 to 50 mph.
The National Weather Service warned the strong winds could blow around unsecured objects, knock down tree limbs and possibly cause power outages.
