The first time I tasted freedom, it was bittersweet. Thrown into an abyss, falling into a never ending hole, I was sadly alone.

All that fall and bruises. For a future I couldn’t even see.

I threw my arms around wildly, in search of something to hold onto, something to break the fall — anything could do.

‘I’ll borrow people’s backs, at least till I can stand on my feet.’ I decided.

That was how I chose to move to the hostel. I’d either live or die, I knew. Not like I cared much for any, but I could pretend to try.

If I was running, or trying, I couldn’t say.

So, I chose to say a prayer.

‘Help me meet good people, I want to ask someone, ‘where have you been all my life?’’

The next semester, I moved to room 17.

A place that’d challenge everything I knew about myself and my abilities. Like, being able to bite down my lips, hard enough my quivers are not heard at midnight when they start.

Like, resisting the urge to pound an annoying girl to a pulp. Things like that.

Or, falling in love with myself that I chose to dunk, not in hate this time, but pity. Pity wild enough to push for kindness towards myself.

And that is how my personal development started. That is Why I would be doing this 30days series. To show you what a real personal growth journey can look like — behind closed doors.

Although, Partly to help me fall back in tune with writing. Forgive me for being selfish.

This series will be real and undiluted, nerve-racking yet calming, honest, blunt and brutal, it’ll be anything but loving and kind. It’ll be what you make of it. But, I’ll call it

Is this our first time meeting? okay.
