If I said that things were chaotic here — I would be making a wild understatement. Things have never been crazier. Not only am I still providing some solid advice (daily) here…I’ve also opened up new coaching opportunities online and via TikTok. Yep. The fun never ends when you have people to help, podcasts to make, and books to write.

Starting this Wednesday, I’ll be offering FREE live coaching on Tiktok. Yep. TikTok Live. You know it, you love it. For one hour (starting @ 8:30PM GMT) I’ll be going live during “Office Hours” to answer your questions on narcissists, toxic family relationships, and creating emotional intelligence for yourself.

As if that wasn’t enough, I’ll also be announcing the next Recovery Lab workshop this week. Last month, more than 40 people signed up my session on toxic relationships. Well, I expect that to double this month…because we are going to be talking about childhood trauma and this is sure to be one of the best workshops I host this year.

I’ll have even more great news coming soon…but I can’t spill all the beans just yet. If you want to keep up with me, what’s going on, and what’s releasing soon — make sure you’re on my mailing list or following me on TikTok.

As always, thank you for all the love and the support. We’re making things happen one improved life at a time. I couldn’t do any of it without you.

E.B.

Meanwhile, the growth and the opportunity never stops. This week, we discovered (and re-disocvered) some of my best articles on life, love, and everything in-between. These are the best and most popular stories from E.B. Johnson on Practical Growth (and beyond) this week. Discover how you can safeguard your wellbeing and build better relationships. All while manifesting a life that is authentically your own.

Ground Rules for Leaving a Bad Relationship

Being in a bad relationship doesn’t have to mean chaos. It doesn’t have to be a “death” and it doesn’t have to equal total destruction of everything we know. Even when we are in the midst of terrible partnerships, we can make the choice to act as adults — and to deliver the ending with the respect we couldn’t muster in our love life…

Regret and Marrying the Wrong Person

…The problem, though, is that this fantasy can drive many into a headlong date with disaster. So desperate to get to that happily-ever-after, they wind up settling for all the wrong people and creating lives that are nightmares more than anything else. They marry themselves the wrong people, in every sense of the world, and their relationships (and their families) pay the price…

Quit Lying About Your Bad Relationship

People in terrible relationships tell themselves a lot of lies. It’s how they can keep it all going, despite the chaos and the upset. Lies are a fundamental part of the dysfunction. People lie to themselves about how they’re being treated, how they treat others, and even how they are affecting their children, family, and friends. Bad relationships suck the life out of us, and the only way to escape them is by being radically honest about where we’re at and where we want to be…

I am sick to death of the toxic positivity gurus, “experts”, and influencers littering the front pages of every major publication and TikTok video in existence. Their half-baked takes aren’t just superficial — they’re selling people into false realities that do real harm.

That’s Why I’ve just released this new episode of my top-ranked podcast. This week, we’re talking about toxic positivity culture, toxic coaching practices, and how they’re holding us back from getting what we really crave.

What we’re talking about in this episode of Practical Growth:

  • What is toxic positivity?
  • How does it affect us?
  • How can we spot it and stop it?

This is one of my best episodes to date. It’s definitely the one I’m most proud of. Make sure you check it out on Apple, Spotify, and anywhere else you like to listen to your favorite podcasts. Want to get a FREE eBook off my website? Leave a 5⭐️ review of the episode and I’ll send you one.

  • Are you dating an absolute jerk? It’s not a fun place to be this. This type of partner is not only rude to you — they’ll cause drama in public, and aren’t above treating others badly. It can be frustrating and hurtful to navigate life with someone like that. Don’t underestimate the damage that they’re doing.
  • Tired of dealing with a toxic person on social media? Block them. Don’t engage. Don’t try to change them. Hit the block button and go on with your life. This is why.
  • STOP! Before you jump into another bad relationship, have enough respect to give yourself these crucial reality checks. They may just keep you from settling for something that will make break your heart. Never settle for less than you deserve. Take heart of the truth and protect your wellbeing.

Are you a child of narcissistic parents? Whether one or both parents inflicted damage, the results are the same. We wind up being insecure balls of total self-loathing and self-doubt. For us to recover our futures, we have to learn new ways to love both ourselves and others.

In my newest eBook — Unmasking Narcissistic Family — I help you identify the signs of a narcissistic parent, and help you develop strategies to recover.

What you’ll learn in this eBook:

  • How to identify truly narcissistic personalities
  • Acknowledging narcissistic childhood trauma
  • How to begin a recovery process in adulthood

It’s important for you to be honest about who your parents were, so that you can be fully honest about who you are and who you do (and don’t) want to be.

Making the same mistakes isn’t a must. You don’t have to live up to their expectations of you. There’s a different way to live; a different way to forge a path to any future for yourself. But it begins with realizing where you’ve come from and what really happened to you.
