Three very different gardens will be open to the public to raise money for the British Red Cross.
The Thicketts is an artist’s fabulous courtyard garden together with the artist’s studio, which will be open on Sunday, July 3.
The walled garden includes palms and delicate plants alongside traditional cottage garden staples. It is designed for sitting in, with seating provided in different areas so the owners can move with the sun.
Tea, coffee and cake will be available to buy.
The Small House garden overlooks the village green and features a 50-metre pergola, a restored Edwardian greenhouse, and a central historic mulberry tree.
A large collection of hostas and ferns are grown in shaded areas.
30 Cottage Lane, Collingham, is a delightful bee-keepers garden.
The 3/4-acre garden has been planted to provide food and habitat for bees, hoverflies, butterflies and other pollinators.
There is a working apiary and visitors will be able to safely view honeybees in a glass observation hive.
The owner will give a talk — Conversation With The Bee Keeper — every hour, starting at 10.30am.
Entry is £5 per person (cash only) to include all three gardens, which are open 10am to 3pm.
