What time will the new Netflix anime Vampire in the Garden release around the world, what is the new series about and who are the voice cast?

Despite the criticisms surrounding the release of JoJo’s Stone Ocean and Komi Can’t Communicate, Netflix continues to launch solid original series, including The Orbital Children, Kotaro Lives Alone and Thermae Romae Novae.

This week, the streaming giant is set to release its latest original anime, the highly anticipated Vampire in the Garden series. So, what date and time will Vampire in the Garden release worldwide, what is the new Netflix anime about and where will fans recognise the voice cast from?

What is Vampire in the Garden about?

Vampire in the Garden is an original anime, meaning there is no original manga or light novel series to adapt, from Wit Studio. The Tokyo-based production studio is best-known for animating the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, Seraph of the End, Vinland Saga, Ranking of Kings and the ongoing Spy x Family anime in collaboration with CloverWorks.

The new Netflix series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has almost been completely destroyed by a race of vampires. A small pocket of survivors constructs a wall of light outside a small town to give them what little protection they have left as they try to live out the rest of the war in peace.

“The protagonist, Momo, lives a repressed life but still wishes to coexist with the enemy, the vampires. Fine, the vampire queen, once loved humans and disappeared from the battlefield. As war rages through the humans’ town, the two have a fateful encounter.” – Synopsis, via Netflix Media Centre.

However, after meeting each other in the most unlikely of circumstances, Momo and Fine set out on a journey to find Paradise; an almost-mythical place where humans and vampires can live in harmony.

Vampire in the Garden: Release date and time

Vampire in the Garden was originally meant to premiere back in 2021 before the anime series was delayed until 2022 because of issues associated with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As confirmed in the official YouTube trailer, Vampire in the Garden will release around the world via Netflix on Monday, May 16^th.

The streaming giant has not confirmed a specific launch time, but the anime is expected to be made available from the following times in accordance with Netflix’s typical update window for new content:

• Pacific Time: 12 AM PDT
• Eastern Time: 3 AM EDT
• British Time: 8 AM BST
• European Time: 9 AM CEST
• India Time: 12.30 PM IST
• Philippine Time: 3 PM PHT
• Australia Time: 4.30 PM ACST

At the time of writing, the number of episodes in Vampire in the Garden season 1 has not been confirmed by either Netflix or Wit Studio.

Recognise any of the anime series’ voice cast?

With Vampire in the Garden set to premiere around the world in only a few short hours, five of the main voice cast have been revealed:

• Momo is voiced by Megumi Han
• Fine is voiced by Yū Kobayashi
• Allegro is voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi
• Nobara is voiced by Rika Fukami
• Kubo is voiced by Hiroki Tōchi

Megumi Han is a veteran voice actor of the anime industry, with her most famous roles being in Hunter x Hunter (Gon), Dance Dance Danseur (Junpei), Devilman Crybaby (Miki), Little Witch Academia (Atsuko) and Precure All Stars (Hime).

Yu Kobayashi is also a voice actress who fans will immediately recognise from her previous work, including Sasha from Attack on Titan and Charlotte in Black Clover. Her other notable roles include Dorohedoro (Noi), One Piece (Black Maria) and Record of Ragnarok (Hrist).
