Although he has admitted it was “hard work”, James has lost an impressive amount of weight over the years. One reason Why he decided to shed the pounds was because of other people’s criticisms.
James has opened up about his weight, as well as his weight loss journey, several times in the past.
In March 2019, the chef appeared on Loose Women, admitting to the panel of hosts his exact weight and height at the time.
This was because of co-presenter Janet Street Porter, who asked James if his mother ever commented on his appearance and his weight.
The chef said: “100 percent, hence why I am wearing a jacket.

James added: “I’ve never been a little lad. That’s the way I am.”
This was not the first time the chef spoke about other people criticising his weight.

“So, I lost a stone and a half.”
One of the best diets for slimmers, which is not too different to the diet James followed, is the Mediterranean diet.
This involves eating vegetables, legumes, lentils, nuts, and fatty fish.
The chef also credited exercise for his weight loss transformation.
Back in 2005, James competed on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and reportedly lost a whopping five stone in just two months.
This was due to the programme’s rigorous training regime.
Now, James often shares images of his dogs on his Instagram account, noting that he regularly takes them for walks.
Walking is another easy way to lose weight and can be just as effective as running – or any other cardiovascular activity – if done often.
