A woman required treatment after being bitten by a dog in Welwyn Garden City, and police are keen to speak to the man pictured as part of their enquiries.

At around 9.10am on Tuesday, September 27, the victim was walking along Blythway when she was bitten on the knee, breaking the skin and leaving her needing medical treatment.

The dog, which was on a lead, was with a man and is described as terrier-like and sandy-coloured with tight, curly fur.

“We’ve now obtained a photo of a man who might be able to help our enquiries and I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises him,” said PC Lee Rowson, from the Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team.

“The incident happened at around 9.10am on Tuesday, September 27, and sadly our enquiries, which included house-to-house, came back negative at the time.

“We are hopeful that this new lead will help us to gain justice for the victim.

“Please get in touch if you recognise the man pictured or have information yourself. Simply call the non-emergency number 101 or email me at lee.rowson@herts.police.uk, quoting crime reference 41/78267/22.”
